According to the General Department of Taxation, Viettel is the only state-owned corporation to appear in the top 10 of the list of V1000 enterprises paying the highest corporate income tax in Vietnam with a total tax paid of more than VND 230,000 billion from 2016 to 2021. In which, in 2020, Viettel has paid more than VND 37,000 billion of corporate income tax.
A representative of Viettel said that in order to maintain the growth rate, Viettel has taken a new step in its strategy since 2018, whereby the Group has stepped up digital transformation activities and successfully transformed into a digital service provider. Viettel also formed the following 06 digital foundation fields: Digital infrastructure, digital solutions, digital finance, digital content, network security and high-tech manufacturing.
This enterprise is also a pioneer in providing digital products, especially digital government, smart city operation center, digital health, digital education, digital traffic, etc
Its successful testing of video calls on self-researched and manufactured gNodeB 5G transceivers in early 2021 has put Viet Nam on the list of six countries possessing 5G technology. By the end of September 2021, Viettel had 44 patents granted in Việt Nam and seven in the US.
Recently, at the national forum for developing digital technology enterprises, Viettel leaders proposed to the Government to adjust the regulations on the use of the Science and Technology Development Fund in the direction of increasing the initiative for businesses.
In addition, Viettel also proposed specific policies for “Make in Vietnam” technology products in the domestic market and proposed to the Government to identify strategic partners in science and technology at national level, orientation of cooperation in science and technology for businesses and the community._____________________
